Heyoon - Alex's relationship with Heyoon is sacred because it was a place he discovered with his friends. They spent a lot of time together there and made memories. Heyoon was a place of his childhood that he sees as "his". Heyoon changed his life in the small town in Michigan because it was something for him to do. Heyoon was mysterious and being there was a fun risky adventure for him and his friends. Discussions of time and place are important because it helps set the audience in the same mood as the story teller. The description of the place helps encourage the mystery to heyoon and the time description captures the amount of time was spent there and mostly taken place at night. Personal narratives and research are the same similar because they both they describe an event or topic. Personal narrative and research are different because personal narratives are more detailed and centered around the importance of something in ones life. Research is very structured and doesn't have much emotion placed into it.
Mother Tounge- In my writing I catch myself using "Englishes" that I am familiar with with while having everyday conversation. My tone is kept the same and unless I am aware throughout a paper I can keep a comfortable tone instead of a formal tone. My tone changes when I am speaking to authority, family and friends. When the appropriate occasion comes, I can change my Englishes when necessary. Different Englishes that Amy Tan describes is the English that she grew up with which includes family, her husband, and professional.
