Ben, a resident of Homer starts out not sure about his stance on the topic of immigration within the community and throughout the United States. He does research by looking up information online and using the sources that he finds to help determine his stance. The main source of his struggle is that he lives in a place where immigration isn't a normal problem, therefore he has to use readings that involve with international issues in places like Germany.
To make sure my research is credible I pay extra close attention to the orgins of the source. I trust sites that follow with .edu, government certified websites and sites that are well known in the academic space. These sources are credible because they are used by officials and are usually provided for school use. The information won't be biased and will give factual information. It can hard to avoid using wikipedia but using tools like Google scholar can easily sort sources. Also, I do believe that people can discuss controversial issues without being biased. Many news reporters rely on not picking sides in order to give the best broadcast of the problem to their audience.
The community I am reseraching for my paper is women in sports. I picked this topic because of current knowledge and a huge interets to dive deeper into the topic.
